ICC Test Team of the Decade

Here is the Test Team of the Decade from the ICC which was announced just before Christmas.

Some incredible players in there but would you change any in your team?

Here is my team:

  1. Cook (8,818 runs at 46.41)

  2. Amla (6,695 runs at 49.96)

  3. Williamson (C) (6,379 runs at 51.44)

  4. Smith (7,164 runs at 62.84)

  5. De Villiers (5,059 runs at 57.48)

  6. Sangakkara (WK) (4,851 runs at 61.40)

  7. Stokes (3,787 runs at 35.72 & 139 wickets at 33.13)

  8. Cummins (139 wickets at 21.92)

  9. Steyn (267 wickets at 22.29)

  10. Lyon (380 wickets at 32.11)

  11. Anderson (429 wickets at 24.35)

Close but Miss Out (And probably another good team here....)

  • Virat Kohli (7,202 runs at 54.97)

  • Josh Hazelwood (195 wickets at 26.20)

  • Shakib Al Hasan (3,147 runs at 42.52 & 162 wickets at 31.97)

  • R Ashwin (362 wickets at 25.36)

  • Stuart Broad (403 wickets at 27.65)

  • David Warner (7,088 runs at 48.21)

  • Joe Root (7,359 runs at 48.41)

  • Azhar Ali (5,885 runs at 42.64)

  • Cheteshwar Pujara (5,740 runs at 49.48)

  • Shivnarine Chanderpaul (3,198 runs at 60.33)

  • Jacques Kallis (2,810 runs at 58.54 & 41 wickets at 42.87)

  • Morne Morkel (248 wickets at 25.99)

  • Rangana Herath (363 wickets at 26.41)

This team was incredibly hard to choose as there were some great names left out. The aim of this team is to cover performances from only within the decade which makes it very difficult to chose and finds me leaving some true greats out of my side.

Please comment below if you have a different view of this team and would be great to see your team commented below.
